First Steps
After installing Norri, follow these steps to get your media server up and running.
1. Create Your Admin Account
When you first access Norri, you’ll be prompted to create an administrator account. This account has full access to all settings and media.
2. Add Your Media Libraries
Navigate to Settings → Libraries and click Add Library.
For each library, you’ll need to:
- Choose a library type (Movies, TV Shows, Music, etc.)
- Select the folder containing your media
- Configure metadata sources
- Start the initial scan

3. Configure Users
If you’re sharing Norri with family members, create user accounts for each person:
- Go to Settings → Users
- Click Add User
- Set their permissions and library access

4. Install Client Apps
Access your media from anywhere by installing the Norri apps:
- Apple TV — Download from the App Store
- Android TV — Download from Google Play
- Web — Access via any browser at your server’s address
