Review Queue
When Norri scans your media library, it automatically matches files to metadata from TMDB. Sometimes the system is not completely confident about a match and flags the item for your review. The Review Queue helps you manage these items.
Accessing the Review Queue
The Review Queue is accessible via the notification bell icon in the header. When items need review, a badge shows the count of pending items. Clicking the bell takes you to the Review Queue page where you can see all flagged items.
Why Items Get Flagged
Items are flagged for review when the automatic matching process encounters uncertainty. Here are the reasons an item might appear in the queue:
| Reason | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Title Differs | The matched title is significantly different from your folder name | Folder “Marvel’s She-Hulk” matched to “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” |
| Year Mismatch | The year in your folder does not match the TMDB year | Folder says 2023, TMDB says 2024 |
| No Year | Year is missing from the filename | Just “Movie Name” instead of “Movie Name (2023)“ |
| Low Confidence | The matching algorithm was not confident in the result | Ambiguous title with multiple possible matches |
| Unmatched | No match could be found in TMDB | Obscure or very new content |
| NFO Fallback | Matched using an NFO file instead of TMDB search | NFO file present but TMDB search failed |
Visual Indicators
Items needing review are marked throughout the interface:
- Poster badges: An amber warning triangle appears on poster cards for flagged items
- Notification bell: Shows a count of items needing review in the header
- Review Queue page: Lists all items across all libraries that need attention
Reviewing Items
When you open the Review Queue, each item shows:
- The match display: “Folder: [original name] → Matched: [TMDB title]” so you can see exactly what was on disk versus what Norri matched it to
- Year information: The year from your folder is shown if present, helping you spot year mismatches
- The reason for flagging: Why this item needs review
Available Actions
Confirm Match
If Norri matched the item correctly despite the flag, click Confirm Match. The item will be added to your library with the TMDB metadata.
This is common when:
- Your folder uses an alternate title but Norri found the correct movie
- The year in your folder was off by one
- You simply did not include the year in the filename
Rematch
If Norri matched to the wrong item, click Rematch to search for the correct TMDB entry. The search dialog pre-fills with your original folder name (not the incorrectly matched TMDB title), making it easier to find what you are actually looking for.
Use rematch when:
- A different movie or show with a similar name was matched
- The wrong version or edition was selected
- A sequel was matched instead of the original
Tips for Avoiding Review Queue Items
While the Review Queue is there to catch edge cases, you can minimize its use with good media organization:
Use TMDB-Standard Titles
Rename your folders to match the exact title on TMDB. This eliminates title difference flags.
Before: Marvel's She-Hulk (2022)/After: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)/Always Include the Year
Including the release year dramatically improves match accuracy and eliminates “No Year” flags.
Good: The Matrix (1999)/Bad: The Matrix/Handle Remakes Carefully
For movies with multiple versions (remakes, reboots), the year is essential:
Dune (1984)/Dune (2021)/Use TMDB ID Hints for Difficult Cases
For truly ambiguous titles, you can include the TMDB ID in the folder name:
Avatar (2009) {tmdb-19995}/See Media Organization for complete naming conventions.
Bulk Operations
When reviewing multiple items, you can work through them efficiently:
- Open the Review Queue from the notification bell
- Review each item and click Confirm or Rematch
- The queue updates automatically as you process items
- When all items are processed, the notification count disappears
